Today we went down to the Mount Vernon area but to Washington's Distillery and Gristmill that was recreated exactly how it would have been way back in 1799. We saw how they made corn meal and whiskey back then and it was pretty amazing. The grounds were beautiful and I enjoyed being surrounded by history. Afterward we tried to go to see the house at Mount Vernon but it closed so we went to dinner at the Mount Vernon Restaurant. Yummy food and great atmosphere.
