Girl can't catch a break!

On Thursday night Caylee was running a fever and wouldn't eat her bottle...Friday morning both kids had fevers. I made an appointment for that day and turned out Caylee got hand/foot/mouth disease. Are you serious?! She isn't even in day care! We've been to the commissary and BX! Come to find out it's been spreading around this base...great. When we got to doctor we found sores starting in her mouth, which is why she didn't want to eat, and had one on her hand and foot. The doctor said it would get worse before it got better, and man was he right! The weekend has been pretty terrible. She struggled to eat and drink anything so my main goal was to keep her hydrated enough so that we didn't end up in hospital for dehydration. This meant letting her drink from any cup or water bottle she wanted to and I even resulted to putting water in her mouth through a dropper because she let me. By Saturday evening she had a rash from head to toe and was quite cranky. She had a fever for 3 days and I was giving her Tylenol and Motrin around the clock to help as much as I could. Her wet diapers were often enough we didn't end up in hospital so that was success. Today she was more herself, rash is almost gone, no more fever, eating a little better, and she was smiles tonight at bath time.
It was good to see...poor baby has had enough. When this girl is sick it takes over her whole body. Luckily Aiden didn't even have a fever again after Friday and escaped getting this disease. Thank God!
