First Bath

Last night was another frustrating and awful night of sleep. She eats and then I spend the time rocking her to sleep and then put her down...I get into bed and get 30-45 minutes of sleep and then she squirms and grunts herself awake sometimes even before her next feeding. Needless to say I started the morning sleep deprived and frustrated thinking there has to be something wrong or something I can do about the gas or whatever makes her seem so uncomfortable. I made an appointment with the doctor as soon as the phone lines opened up. She weighed in at 8lbs 7oz, so she has almost gained 2 pounds since birth...she's getting nice and big. I told the doctor about the different things she did and mostly he told me they were normal and she looked perfect. But the fact that she had been fussy during some feedings, arching her back, turning her head, and spitting up sometimes made him think that she may have some reflux that could be causing her some pain. He prescribed Zantac that she'll take twice a day...I'm hoping to see her have some relief. Also earlier in the week her umbilical cord finally fell off so I had the doctor check out her belly button just to make sure a regular bath was ok...we were good to go. Hence, tonight was her first bath and she loved it...she was calm and relaxed and I even had help from big brother.
