2 weeks!
Life with an infant again is interesting. I feel really good about how long we waited to have another one but it sure has made this all feel more difficult because we've been away from this stage a long time. I mean life had become pretty easy getting around with a 4 year old so now it's like, oh yeah, this is hard! However, Caylee is a pretty easy baby, especially in comparison to Aiden's infant weeks so I have to remind myself of that and realize I'm lucky. As long as this little girl is fed, she is mostly happy. I mean, we've already been able to get something to eat at restaurants...Aiden didn't go in a restaurant until he was 2 months and it still wasn't easy. She loves to sleep in her swing, but if she's not there she'd prefer to be in your arms walking around. She likes to be on the move. She hates being in her car seat, but I'm not sure if it's the seat or the fact it's so hot. Her reflex smiles, which are like clockwork as she's drifting off to sleep, are the greatest and it makes us so anxious for the real ones. She's going to have a great one just like her brother. Aiden loves his little sister and calls her "baby girl" or "my girl". He's always checking on her and wants to know whether she's awake or sleeping. She's a very gassy baby (a fun embarrassing story for potential boyfriends in the future) which gives me concerns for her comfort, but again she's no where as fussy as Aiden ever was so we'll see. We have one beautiful little girl. We are anxious to see what happens to that dark head of hair and if her eyes will turn blue or hazel. We can see those blonde highlights in her hair and sometimes her eyes look like they just might match her daddy.
