Thank You Mom- The Sequel
If you have read my last 2 posts then it should be obvious why my mom has another huge "Thank You" on the way. I received a text from Jason at 12:47 on a Friday afternoon asking if my mom could watch Aiden...I called her a minute later and her response was just pure excitement for me. Not even a question of being able to watch Aiden. My mom was already "on the books" to watch Aiden on that Monday and Tuesday because Tricia was going out of town and she was more than happy to make it 4 days in a row. At first she was excited to have Aiden at her house but when we realized that we didn't quite have a spontaneous option for Bailey she was willing to pack her self up and come here to watch the whole crew. Amazing. Thanks to my Mom I was able to go away for the weekend within a matter of 30 minutes. Now, this would be deserving enough of praise but then Aiden got sick. My mom was a rock star! She took care of Aiden all Sunday when he was feeling so cruddy, drove all over town to urgent care, then went to 24 hour pharmacy to get his meds (having to wait forever!), and did it all while keeping us updated as we headed back from California. That isn't what Grandmas are doing on a regular basis people! She put in the most hours with him while he was dealing with this between Jason and I being in Cali and then having to be at work when we got back. And those hours weren't easy. I know that it was just as hard on my mom to see Aiden in all that pain as it was on me and she had to see it more. And all that patience she has! I need some of that. She did it all day while I was at work and then helped me all night. When Aiden couldn't go back to daycare she stayed ANOTHER day to help. That is 5 days with an unbelievably sick little boy and doing it effortlessly. When it was all over and I was thanking her over and over on the phone, she just said that she felt lucky that we were able to do it as a team. Having my Mom on my team makes life so much less scary. It is just another over and beyond moment for my mother and I feel so blessed to call her mine.
