20 months

Yesterday:

I didn't get a picture today (gasp!) and he's already asleep so 19 months, 3 weeks, and 6 days will just have to do! :)

He is all better now so that is the most important thing! He is now running around like a mad man, falling down on purpose, falling off things on purpose, running into things on purpose...we are all good! The last 2 months had been quite routine until the strep throat slapped us all in the face. Aiden had come by school several times. He would busy himself by taking everything out of my drawers.

So then I decided to let him play with the phone as he watched videos on my laptop, plus fed him teddy grahams...a lot less for me to clean up...
With summer here his favorite fruits are back around. We now have a fun past time where he sits at the island as I cut the watermelon and cantaloupe and he just eats it the whole time. I know that he is not off making a mess or trying to jump off something high and he is enjoying himself...works for me!

He has started to finally drink out of a straw, yay! Sometimes he still thinks he needs to tip at the same time so we are helping.
He's so happy...

Tricia has been helping watch her new baby nephew, Jesse, and Aiden is just so sweet with him. It warmed my heart to see him so sweet and involved with a little baby at his young age. He likes to "hold" him and pet his head. He even gives him kisses.

This day was the first time he REALLY enjoyed the car at Fry's while Jason and I grocery shopped. BTW I wiped the crap out of it with the Clorox wipes they offer...I'm a bit paranoid after the strep incident :) We had tried it once before but he was into getting in and out of it so it kind of defeated the purpose of it helping while shopping. He was driving the car and going "Wee" the whole time. "Wee" is very common right now with everything. He only got out once because he saw the bananas and had to get some...then he got back in. It was actually quite hilarious because we would have forgotten them had he not done that.

The crayons and paper had been put away for a while due to him writing all over my kitchen island, floors, and walls. I brought them back out recently and he has been coloring up a storm and enjoys us coloring with him. He actually handed me a yellow crayon and said "Ba" for banana and wanted me to draw one. When I did he was all excited and then went "Ba mmmm"
He sure is a character. He is coming into his own and wants things his way. He is throwing fits and screams when he doesn't get his way. He even likes to hit. So awesome. He'll hit whatever he is mad at. If he wanted something from fridge and I say no, he'll smack the fridge. It is so funny which makes it hard not to laugh. I just tell him, fine be mad, and I walk away. He does weird things like the falling down and running into things on purpose. I'm assuming a boy thing. The other night he insisted on wearing his shoes around the house. He wouldn't have it any other way. At first he just wanted one on, then both. Coo coo!
We keep getting closer to talking. Although it felt like we were so far away when he was sick and I would have given anything if he could have told me what was wrong and what I could do to make him feel better. Some "words" that we can add:

• jum- for for jump
• uh- for up
• dow- for down
• hah- for hot (then he blows on his food)
• joo- for juice
• too- for cookies and cookie monster (I'm assuming the C sound is too hard)
• ba-ball- now for ball (I think he's trying to say basketball)
• hi and bye
• dada and mama- mostly appropriately except when he thinks it is funny to do the opposite in front of us :)
• buh- for book
• peeeee- for please (It is the cutest thing ever!)
• faw- for frog (along with rib bit rib bit for the sound)
• mimi- for monkey
• He makes lots of animal sounds- sheep, bee, dog, monkey, cow, tiger (he likes to tiger tiger roar from Kia-lan), cat (he meows with Sammie), and frog

He's 1 year and two-thirds :) Holy Moly! We are closer to 2 than 1 now....
