School Update

I'm not going to lie, Aiden's transition into his new room last week was quite disastrous. He was not being a well behaved little boy that cared about learning and I was not having it. When I said that Aiden has no idea what he's in for with a teacher Mom...that goes for a lot of things! His first week with Ms. Bre was bad. I came to find out he's throwing his fits, refusing to work, throwing his fist down, getting his mad face...yeah, not good. "Stuff" hit the fan and the hammer came down at home in a lectured fashion from a teacher's stand point. It was hard on me to think that my kid was being a handful, one that wouldn't do his work, one that whined at everything. Talk about another reality slap, my child is spoiled. Not that it comes as some huge surprise but when it becomes a part of a real world, extremely important milestone like school...ugh. But flash forward, that was last week, THIS week is great! The talks and consequences at home have resulted in a little boy that realizes that school is part of his life and he needs to do well. School has become just the thing he needed to socialize and realize that he is not the center of the world. On Tuesday my little man had made such good choices that he moved from his green day to a blue day! I was so happy! And then by the end of the week he had made it to purple. I was one proud Mom!
So tonight we took Aiden to get frozen yogurt to celebrate his awesome week and show how proud we are of him working hard. Aiden is making friends at school, he is doing his school work without complaint, and is now excited to go to school and see his teacher and classmates. He's still being picky for eating but is doing a little better each week. I know that all of this is a brand new thing but there is no better time than now for him to realize the importance of school.
