2 and 1/4 years old!

I'll use any excuse for a recap...Aiden is getting big and growing up quite fast. There are so many funny and great things that he does right now (and many not so great things as well!) and he really makes every day fun. There are many days where I'm not too thrilled with his tantrums, whining, hitting, and throwing but there are more times that I know he is the best thing that ever happened to me.  Although many of these are a "you have to be there" kind of thing, I just want to list the many things he does right now that makes him him. It is so funny how he:

• answers yes with "yay"
• says "tah-mon" when he wants us to go where he wants us to
• will say "ma-maaaaaa" when I do something silly
• says "here you go" 
• says "that one"
• says "Look, I did it!"
• asks "what are you doing?" even right after he asks you to do the thing he is asking about
• walks over Bailey and will say "excuse me Bailey" or "sorry Bailey"
• loves opening the sliding glass door to let Bailey in
• says "excuse me" after he burps and even says it when he hears others as well
• says "snack" more like "shnack" and quite nasally...oh man, you just have to hear it...too cute
• has to pick out his shirt everyday but only chooses the same 2, so he rarely wins
• has to hang out in the pantry and decide what he wants to snack on just like we do
• has such a love for all things BOY- monster trucks, planes, cars, dinosaurs, etc
• makes anything fly and crash and fall down

 

• will just run through the house and then run into the wall or doors just to fall
• will jump and fall, just for fun
• changes his obsessions/phases constantly- Cars then Nemo then Toy Story then Dora/Diego then Blues Clues then How to Train Your Dragon then Frosty for Christmas and now Mickey Mouse
• is obsessed with his shoes and right now has an attachment to his "fire shoes". Before these were sent to him he had a major obsession with his Cars shoes....he'll get mad if we take them off too soon even if we are around the house.
• knows that shoes mean we are getting out the door and will bring Jason and I our shoes to get us going
• eats salad! And every time he does it at a restaurant people are shocked...it's funny

 

• still is pretty good at restaurants even amidst the terribleness of his 2's (that's the sound of me knocking on wood!)

• plays his V-motion games so well but half the time just wants to sit and watch one of us play the games. He knows how to turn on the TV, the controller, and the console and play, but then he'll come in to you and say "here you go" and then if you don't move right away, "tah'mon mama tah'mon"

• loves to talk to people on the phone and tries to show them his toys through it 
• knows how to navigate through and just loves to be on his iphone watching movies, or playing games (like Angry Birds!)

I could never list ALL things he does that make him great but those are some of the ones we are enjoying the most right now. We love that little boy.
