Happy 4th of July and 1 month!!
Today Caylee is one month old! Since she was 8lb 7oz last Friday, I am assuming she's almost 9 lbs if not already. She's grown out of newborn diapers and I already have a "too small" pile of clothes started. The Zantac has seemed to help her and she hasn't cried at a bottle since and even seems to be sleeping better. We've been working really hard at flipping her days and nights, which rewarded me with the last 2 nights a pretty long stretch of sleep. If she isn't sleeping she likes to be in your arms (just like Aiden did!). We get a few stretches of being content and awake in the bouncer or play-mat but once she gets even a tad sleepy... "Pick me up!" On top of that, she likes walking (just like Aiden did!) rather than sitting and rocking so it makes for a lot of being on the go around the house. I have gotten pretty good at one armed tasks, including making and eating food, several household chores (vacuuming and laundry!), and blogging (right now in fact!). Her smiles are still reflex but we are getting voluntary ones too so that is always a real treat. She smiles a lot for her daddy. She makes a lot of squeaks and grunts (which is mostly the gas I'm sure) but we have gotten some coos that come through too. We anxiously wait for a little personality to start to emerge. Her one month birthday was jam packed. We started out in her daytime outfit and took some pics with big brother (who somehow hit his eye in the middle of the night on what we assume was his nightstand but has NO memory of it) and then headed to a friends pool party. Aiden tried floaties for the first time and really swam on his own. He loved it and did such a great job!
Then we went to Surprise Stadium to watch the fireworks with my friend Jessica and her son Bryson. Here we got to snapping pictures and finally got our first family photo and my absolute favorite picture of the night of my 2 kids watching the fireworks together. It was a hot, but fun, night and I had a beautiful family to share it with.
