Today Caylee is 6 weeks and growing like a weed. She already seems way bigger than the day she was born. I'll be interested to see how much she weighs at her 2 month check up. The zantac has seemed to help her and she doesn't ever seem upset at feedings and her arching and gassiness has seemed to die down too. She has started to coo a little and will smile more in response and not only as reflex or during sleep. She is just too cute. Her sleeping is inconsistent...the night before last she only woke up once and it was quite exciting but last night she woke up twice and wasn't so great. We will wait and see. There are so many similarities between Aiden and Caylee and when I look back at the blog book from 2008 it is like deja vu. They both had tummy troubles and I am just thankful that Caylee's are less severe (we only had to change formulas once compared to Aiden which was twice) and she cries way less often than he did. But, in November of 2008 I wrote, "Here he is on his changing table. This is the place that he is almost ALWAYS happy. There is just something about that place that make him comfortable...We can almost always get him to smile on his changing table." Same thing with Caylee! She is always smiling on the changing table. We have the same furniture and it's set up the same but obviously different colors and decor so not sure what it is.
Also in October of 2008 I wrote, "Don't put me down...That is the battle cry in this house right now. Aiden does not like to spend too much time out of someones arms....Not to mention he prefers the motion of someone walking to any other motion..." Caylee too!
If she gets even the slightest bit sleepy, in your arms is where she wants to be. There are a good 15-20 minutes right after she's fed that she is nice and alert and is content on her playmat or in her bouncer etc. The difference between her and Aiden....once you get her asleep you can almost always get her put into the swing without waking instantly back up and she takes pretty good naps there. She sure looks comfy in there all the time.
We call her our little lizard because she always is sticking out her little tongue. It makes us laugh.
Lastly, she has a brother that sure does love her bunches. Sometimes we have to tell him to back down a bit just because sometimes he forgets how fragile she is, but I know he can't wait until she's older and can interact more. He loves when she's awake and he can talk to her, which sometimes results in him waking her on purpose (that doesn't settle well with mommy but she tries to be cool) but he is great at keeping her company and is a great helper.
Caylee is the sweetest and most beautiful little girl and we are so glad she is ours. She smiles a lot for Daddy and I know she already has him wrapped around her cute little finger. I can't believe 6 weeks have already passed and even though I don't want her to grow too fast, I know we are all very excited for her to start getting a little personality and more interactive.
