My Poor Baby

Caylee showed up with a rash on Tuesday night...I thought it was a reaction to bananas because that was the newest food we tried. She woke with a fever yesterday, was waking during the night, not eating much (and remember this girl eats like a monster) so by the afternoon I left work to take her to the doctor. The doctor said she had a viral rash which is all over the inside of her mouth keeping her from eating comfortably. The worst part was there was nothing we could do with it being viral...we had to ride it out. Last night was another rough one, she woke up today and barely got down 2 ounces and started throwing up as well even when she got some down. I took them to Tricia's because of an important meeting at work (not the best mother moment) but when I called to check on her after the meeting in the afternoon Caylee had not eaten anything else and had just finished puking up what she did get down. I didn't like this and left work, called doctor again and they told me we had to take her to the ER. I cried. Aiden, Caylee, and myself headed to the hospital and Jason met us there. My little girl had to get IV fluids, blood work, and a catheter for a urine sample. It was a lot to handle. I was trying to stay strong for Aiden but wanted to crumble at the same time seeing my baby girl in so much pain and so miserable. Aiden and I stepped out when she got her IV and Jason said she was a rock star and handled it like a champ. She's strong. We ended up with the same diagnosis, viral (possibly even chicken pox?), but the fluids gave her some color back and made her feel just a little better. Between fluids and another dose of Tylenol from the doctors she was able to rest a little. All I can do is keep up with the Tylenol and hope that she recovers soon. My poor baby...
