Wow...4! Hard to believe but here we are! We made sure he had a little surprise to wake up to this morning...
He woke up so excited for his birthday. He was jumpy with excitement. He had to go to school in the morning and had been looking forward to the Oreo treats I had brought him and his class. They made him a birthday crown and sang to him as he was on top of a chair...could he feel more special?!?

Then I picked him up from school and he got a McDonald happy meal for lunch right before heading off to the zoo (duh, it's our tradition!) with Mommy and Daddy. He enjoyed some gifts from my friends and students first...

I think it is safe to say Aiden had a really great birthday. He ended up being a little under the weather but was still a trooper and lived it to the fullest. We had a nice dinner at his favorite place, Red Robin, and had a great time at the zoo. This morning I found myself a little sad to see him grow up so fast as I took him to school with birthday treats all excited to begin his day with friends. This morning we measured him on his wall and made another mark...I was floored. He has grown so much from exactly 365 days ago...almost 3 and 1/2 inches! It's crazy. We were walking through Sam's last weekend and he said he was a big boy, I said yes you are a big boy, he goes "Well I am
your baby boy, but I'm a big boy"...He's right, he will always be my baby boy and I hope he holds on to that just as much as I will because I'm sure there will come a day when saying that to him will make me very uncool. But until then I will hold these young years very dear to my heart and try to enjoy every minute (even the ones FULL of attitude and whines)! Happy Birthday Aiden, Mommy and Daddy love you very much!
