Skippy

It doesn't seem quite fair to write another dog loss post within 5 days of each other, and yet here I am again. Bad timing for sure and I can't take much more. We lost another sweet, good dog this morning. Skippy was my mom's dog yet a part of my life just the same. Skippy was coming up on his 17th birthday this October and lived a long happy life. Skippy came into our lives in the spring of 1996 after my mom had lost another great little dog (Chelsea) tragically to a car. My mom struggled to find a dog that fit into her life again but she came across Skippy and saved him from a shelter. My mom was Skippy's angel and brought him home. Skippy was a sweet funny dog. I loved loved loved the way he pranced with his long skinny legs. I loved the way he went nuts over peanut butter. He was a good little traveler and was able to be taken places easily. I won't forget his little growl he had when he played. He sounded so ferocious as if he was really going to tear the toy (or you) apart, but he was just having fun. I will miss the way he curled up in a little ball the most. I know he was a small dog but it was almost amazing the little ball he could curl up in. I was able to go out to my Mom's yesterday to say goodbye. I am thankful for that chance but it is never easy. I will miss you Skip.
