Christmas Lights

Aiden's favorite part about Christmas this year is lights. Presents and lights are probably right up there with each other but I think lights are the most magical for him this year. Santa still scares him, not the idea of him, but the physical part....not so much. Maybe I'll get that picture with Santa next year...here's hoping. Anyway, our house is officially done. We've been adding things here and there so this is the final product:
The little Snoopy next to the polar bear is a new and very loved addition. Aiden helped pick it out and since A Charlie Brown Christmas and I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown has been played many several times this year....it was a must have. Coming home to these lights are the highlight of Aiden's everyday. Everyday, "Is my polar bear up?" and if it after 5 we get to say yes and life is good...however, if it is before 5 we have to explain that we need to wait until the sun goes down etc. An added plus is that the 2 houses next door have a wonderful light and inflatable display so it makes Aiden one happy camper.
The only downside for me is that if I am in any hurry to get into the house...forget it. We have to walk down the sidewalk and see the displays every night. It is very cute and reminds me of the more important and simple things in life. Tonight we spent the evening with Gma Avery and Gpa Clayton looking at Christmas light displays in the east valley. It was really nice to get in the car, turn up the Christmas music, and just go look at the time and effort spent in showing holiday spirit. It was awesome. This house was very impressive:
We also saw several that were hooked up to radio stations that are always fun and entertaining. It's funny, Aiden actually likes those the least. He would prefer to look at lights and inflatables that are just there and looking great...I don't think he likes the unpredictability of musical houses.
Looking at lights with Grandma
I think this is what Aiden will miss the most when Christmas comes and goes.
